The Chateau Girardeau “Sundays at Three” series opened its 2018-2019 season with “Baffoni, Braddock, Lin and Lopes” in the Robert F. and Gertrude L. Shuck Music Recital Hall at Southeast Missouri State University’s River Campus. Series director Gabrielle Baffoni joined forces with Ching-Yi Lin, Andy Braddock and Zachary Lopes of Western Kentucky University (WKU) and presented a program of music for clarinet, violin, viola and piano. The program will included a pairing of Robert Schumann’s “Fairy Tales” with György Kurtág’s “Hommage à Robert Schumann,” a performance of a duo by Bohuslav Martinů for violin and viola, and Béla Bartók’s “Contrasts,” a cornerstone piece in the repertoire for clarinet, violin and piano.
