American Sonatas for Violin and Piano

Drs. Ching-Yi Lin and Zachary Lopes released their new CD entitled American Sonatas for Violin and Piano: Bolcom, Corigliano, Ives.  It includes Charles Ives’ Sonata No. 2, William Bolcom’s Sonata No. 2, and John Corigliano’s Sonata.

Recipient of FUSE Grant 2016

Dr. Ching-Yi Lin and Anna Darling (WKU Violin Performance Major) are the recipients of WKU's Faculty–Undergraduate Student Engagement (FUSE) Grant. In 2017, Dr. Lin supervised Anna on her trip to teach violin to children in Africa through the Daraja Music Initiative Program. The trip was fully funded by this grant.

Daraja Music Initiative (DMI)

Teaching the violin to children in Africa: DMI is a non-profit organization that provides grade-school students in Tanzania.  In 2016, Lin initiated a beginner violin class in the Majengo Primary School.  Click on READ MORE to watch a WBKO program about this project from A View from the Hill.

Violin Fest 2015

Violin Fest is geared towards bringing orchestra and private studio teachers, high school students, and college students to the WKU campus. Our guest faculty for Violin Fest 2015 was Mauricio Fuks, Professor of Music at Indiana University Jacobs School of Music.
